These are my personal favorites:
All I Really Want by Quinn G Caldwell
My most favorite devotional of all time is All I Really Want by Quinn G Caldwell because it’s hilarious and deep; funny, well researched and profound.
Prepare The Way: Cultivating a Heart For God in Advent by Pamela C. Hawkins
My second most favorite devotional that I go to again and again is called Prepare The Way: Cultivating a Heart For God in Advent by Pamela C. Hawkins. This one is more liturgy and poetry and I love it for totally different reasons. To be honest I use them both and I use them how ever I want when ever I feel like it, which is to say not on the day or the week listed but as I want).
These are pretty amazing in all kinds of ways:
Name for the Messiah: An Advent Study by Walter Brueggemann is well researched and profound, like every book of his you can’t really go wrong when you choose it.
All Creation Waits by Gayle Boss is beautiful! And while folks say not to judge a book by its cover everyone does and this one is glorious.
Plus there is a kid version too.
Light of the World: A Beginner’s Guide to Advent is by Amy-Jill Levine and her voice is unique in the world as a Jewish woman and a New Testament Scholar.

Low: An Honest Advent Devotional by John Pavlovitz
